Energy Saving Questions You Should Ask
How does it work?
Power optimisation reduces electricity consumption and waste by carefully controlled reduction of system voltage.
Will power optimisation affect equipment performance?
Yes. In most cases electrical equipment installed in the UK will work cost effectively and more efficiently at a reduced supply voltage.
Is it a product or a service?
Both. The power optimiser is a piece of equipment which is connected at the mains intake position. It is specified and installed after a site visit and analysis by our experienced engineers.
Is it a bespoke or off-the shelf product?
Our products are designed to suit specific markets and are individually programmed to meet your unique power management needs. Because our solutions are bespoke for each situation, you will make greater savings than you would from an off the shelf product,
How much energy will it save?
This will depend on the scale and nature of your operation, but you can count on saving between 8% and 21% on existing energy bills.
How much does it cost?
Again, this depends on the application, but you can usually count on a 100% return on investment in approximately 2 years.
How soon can it be delivered?
Normally within four weeks of order approval.
Can it be fitted in old and new buildings?
Yes. Eco-Volt can be installed during the construction of a new building or retrofitted at an existing site.
Are both commercial and domestic versions available?
Yes. We manufacture and programme power optimisers for a range of industrial, commercial and domestic applications and voltage supplies of between 230 and 11,000 volts.
Does power optimisation have any other uses or applications?
Eco-Volt can improve power factor, harmonics, transient suppression and voltage balance; leading, in many cases, to simultaneous technical and financial benefits.
What warranty is offered?
We provide a five year warranty as standard when we manage the installation. Extended warranties can also be made available if required.
Can circuit breakers and by-passes be fitted?
Yes. Eco-Volt Power optimisers can be customised or adapted to meet the needs of individual users or applications
Are all sites suitable for power optimisation?
Any site has the potential to benefit from power optimisation. If your site is consistently above 400v (three phase) or 230v (single phase) that is a good indication that power optimisation is suitable.
Will power optimisation improve our carbon footprint?
Yes. By dramatically reducing energy consumption, it greatly curtails carbon emissions.
